Famished Friday

My schedule has been off.  My exercise schedule has been a hectic, hurry up and get it over with session this week and sometimes it's been almost 9 p.m. by the time I eat supper!  That has added up to my tummy not knowing what time it is going to get nutrients and it's caught up with me today.  I am famished!

Questions via email this week have been on what to eat when you eat out. My standby picks are always a side salad, grilled chicken or fish, and I always ask for grilled vegetables on the side with my meal.  I have on occasion ate part of a baked potato instead of the vegetables.  The potato of course is eaten plain and I eat half of the potato and take the other half home.  As I said yesterday in my post it seems like summer brings on my salad craving so I have ordered salads as well when we're out to eat.  I like to add shrimp to my salads for a little boost of Omega's or grilled chicken.  McDonald's actually has a really great salad with black beans in it and I just add salsa as my dressing.

What do you select when you are eating out?
Email me your choices for eating out and let me know where you go to eat out.  I'd love to compile a list of places to eat that have healthier choices in Chanute!  Don't hesitate to ask your server how they cook things or if you could substitute.  I find that restaurants want your business and will accomodate you.
