Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV) 2 Corinthians 5:17
Our household is FINALLY on the mend! The hubby and I started on antibiotics and we are all feeling much, much better. We had a fun weekend full of family and laughter! My twin niece and nephew came to stay with us Friday night and we had a blast playing
"Just Dance 2" on the Wii.
Everyone wanted "Aunt Steph" to be their dance partner so I really got a great workout for about 2 hours! We laughed so hard all evening and it made me realize you don't have to have wonderful coordination to get the high score on this game. The hubby said we looked like the Walmart commercial with the parents from the 80's with their blue headbands, workout gear, and stunned children watching them workout to the
Black-eyed peas, "Boom Boom Pow" song!!
Black-eyed peas, "Boom Boom Pow" song!!
I didn't have the blue headband on but I was definitely gettin' my groove on!!
If you had the television on at all this weekend you were flooded with ads for Nutrisystem featuring Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey for Jenny Craig, and the beautiful Jennifer Hudson for Weight Watchers. The common denominator for each ad was all about getting healthy for the New Year. The ads left me pondering many thoughts as several situations for the next Meltdown have not clicked together.
Our top priority with each Meltdown was to help each participant create a healthier lifestyle by eating better and exercising 30 minutes a day or more 5 to 6 times a week. Our successes were many and the weight and inches lost speak volumes!
Our top priority with each Meltdown was to help each participant create a healthier lifestyle by eating better and exercising 30 minutes a day or more 5 to 6 times a week. Our successes were many and the weight and inches lost speak volumes!
Here are the stats from our Meltdown!
Our top Meltdowner was #1 in weight loss and inches! I actually saw her, her dog, and her children out running last week! She was jogging and I was honking my horn!! Way to go! She's keeping up her routine because she established great habits!
Our #1 Meltdowner lost 22 pounds and 11 inches.
I always said at each Walkfit class that she had the best kicks I had ever seen!
All that kicking helped her to lose inches and weight!
Our number 2 and 3 Meltdowner in the weight loss category have just .2 pounds seperating them! Both of these ladies were new to our Meltdown and I feel so blessed to have them as new friends! In the #2 position is our Meltdown winner who lost 19.2 pounds and is married to our "Warrior"! They exercised together and created healthy habits together!
The #3 Meltdowner in our weight loss category lost 19 pounds and works with a seasoned Meltdowner who was our top winner last season! Winners hang around with other winners:) This Meltdowner also is crowned our #3 winner in the inches lost category too! She lost 7 inches during this Meltdown.
In the category of inches lost our #2 Meltdowner sculpted 8 inches off of her waist! She also lost almost 8 pounds but she looks like she lost alot more due to her sculpted physic!
I am so proud of all of you for your hard work and commitment to putting yourself first. Your health improved, your fitness level improved, and I know your doctor's were so happy with the results and many of you took a few meds off of your list!
I always post what my results were as well and I was also happy, happy, happy with the results! I lost 15.2 pounds and 6 inches off of my waist! I am just happy to be down 2 pant sizes and looking at going down more due to the habits in place to continue a healthy lifestyle.

Now on to my thoughts about our next Meltdown. . . . . . . .

On Friday, January 13th (you can come in on the 6th if you'd like) our next Meltdown begins!
Make the decision to begin the Meltdown AGAIN!
Email Stephanie to let her know you have made the decision to join her in this 6 week Meltdown (read below because there are a few changes)
Here are our steps:
1. Beginning Stats
You can weigh at home or come into the Health Department and weigh in. This will be your starting weight for our next Meltdown Challenge. Email Stephanie with your beginning weight or when you come into the office you will fill out the form for weight and waist measurement.
2. Waist Measurement
You will also measure your waist and take a new starting waist measurement.
You have to have a starting point in order to get to reach your new goal!
3. Cooking/Nutrition Classes
Stephanie will blog recipes, weekly menus she is using as well as hold a nutrition/cooking class with new recipes for you to taste!
There will be no fee to commit to do the Meltdown the next 6 weeks (January 13th - Feb 18). You have the knowledge to be successful, you have the commitment, we will provide the accountability as your stats will still come to me weekly.
The only difference is we won't be able to have fitness classes.
You will exercise on your own as we do not have a place to hold regular fitness classes.
I recommend exercising in pairs or groups of 3-4.
Look into Inertia fitness or NMRMC fitness center (which I love) ~ both have specials going on right now and the prices are really reasonable.
Or another option is to do what I am ~
many of you already have the Walkfit tape and LOVE IT like I do!
I am back in the consistent swing of things regarding exercise and just like clockwork when 6:30 p.m. arrives the little cowboy knows he will be playing a game on the Wii while I do my fitness class. My decision is to keep moving whether it's Walkfit, Cardio Party Zumba, or my new favorite Jillian Michael's 30 day shred.
Remember my paragraph from above regarding Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Hudson? The other common factor with each weight loss system is this ~
they all had to commit to themselves to exercise each day.
It doesn't matter if that exercise is by yourself, with a buddy, or at a fitness class. Just do it!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
With love, friendship, and respect ~ Stephanie
